WWE One Night Stand 2008.
Falls Count Anywhere: 10/10.
Jeff Hardy vs Umaga.
This was definitely the best opening match in 2008.These guys literally took It EVERYWHERE!!! They fought in the ring, the ramp, the side of the stage, the hallway and the very roof of the arena!!!
The highlights of the match where definitely Jeff's slide down the stair rail and the sick jump off the the wwe billboard, Its was a real shock to see that Jeff just got up after It....wish I could say the same for Umaga.
First Blood Match: 5/10
John Cena vs JBL.
This was an ok match. The only reason I gave It five was because of the knocks both of these men took and the fact that I respect the fact that they'd put their bodies on the line like that for the fans...but they probably couldn't care as long as they get paid.I personally loved cena around this time,he wasnt always trying to pop a blood vessel or lose his voice cutting a promo and the fact that this was also the last real rivalry JBL had before leaving WWE .
I Quit Match: 4/10
I was actually surprised about the quality of this match. It was an above average Diva match.
Singapore Cane Match : 8/10
Cool match but an obvious attempt by WWE to get the mildest original ECW match they could find and stick It on the card but It was a really cool match all the same but It was really boring seeing The Big Show dominate the whole match the saving grace for this match was that Tommy Dreamer and John Morrison and CM Punk where in this match. But all the same a cool match.
Stretcher Match: 7/10.
Shawn Michaels vs Batista.
It may just be me but I find Stretcher matches boring so after watching this match on the DVD I went and watched It on you tube to change my mind. I,ll give It a 7/10 because to be fair this match had some good moments.
Last Man Standing Match: 10/10
Triple H vs Randy Orton.
A very good match until Orton gets injured.Im not normally one for last man standing matches but this was a Flat out War!!! They pulled up the mat ,used the announce table It was a cool match.
Tables , Ladders and Chairs Match:10/10.
The stage was set. Edge, the master of the TLC match with nothing to lose,The Undertaker with his career to lose.It was by far the best One on one TLC match ever.
Over all Its definitely in the top three Pay per views of 2008. A definet buy but you should by It now because you'll get It for a tenner.

This is an excellent PPV. Every match on this event is solid and some which were absolute classics, even the Diva I Quit Match is good . Best on the night were TLC Match , The Singapore Cane Match , The Falls Count Anywhere Match , The Strecther Match and a good Last Man Standing Match which is cut short because of Orton injury. The First Blood Match isnt as bad as people think is was but it wasnt up there with the rest of the nights matches. Overall this was probably the best PPV OF 2008 . PPV RATING 9.5/10

ONE NIGHT STAND 2008! This was argueably the best PPV I have ever seen. My favourite match was of course the TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) match. This match was the most hardcore match i have ever seen. The match finished with a bang when the Undertaker was thrown off a ladder and put through 4 tabels by Edge. Edge ended up winning and the Undertaker was forced to retire but he come back at Summer Slam to face edge again where he sent him to HELL!

WWE One Night Stand 2008 was arguably one of the best PPV of 2008 and it kicked off with a Falls Count Anywhere Match between Jeff Hardy and Umaga. This was really hardcore with Jeff Hardy doing the Swanton Bomb of the top of the truck! WOW! Then was the Singapore Cane match with the winner getting a shot at the ECW title. The match was pretty good which included Big Show, John Morrison, Tommy Dreamer, Chavo Guerrero and CM Punk. I don't know what it is, but I'm not a massive fan of ECW and this was the first match for a long time that i could watch over and over again! Next up was John Cena vs JBL in First Blood Match and this was good not brilliant. After we had an I Quit match, Melina vs Beth Pheonix, it was a bit boring, but there we go! Then we had a stretcher match contested between HBK Shawn Michaels vs Batista, and this match without doubt has to be one of the best matches of 2008. Just amazing! The WWE Championship match was next up between Randy Orton and Triple H in a Last Man Standing Match and this was gruelling and was very good, a little short as a result of Randy Orton getting injured. Is it one of the best Last Man Standing Matches, not really if you want a brilliant Last Man Standing Match, get Royal Rumble 2007 between John Cena vs Umaga, that was pretty spectacular! And finally was the TLC match between Undertaker and Edge, and this was very good. Everyone was moaning, oh why are they getting rid of the Undertaker, I predicted before i watched this on PPV that Undertaker would lose, because you have to remember he's been in this business for 18 years plus, and he's getting pretty old so he needs a rest that's why he mysteriously leaves! Anyway he got his revenge at Summerslam! Getting back to the match, yeah it was a very good match, I enjoyed it!
In my view, this has to be one of the best WWE PPV (DVD) of 2008, and if you're looking for a good hardcore dvd don't look any further than this!

The full-themed stipulation event has always been a bit much for a wrestling fan like myself who is not a big advocate of the 'hardcore' element of professional wrestling. Last years event was decked out with tedious matches and it appeared WWE learned from their dreadful attempt in 2007.
Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga was a carefully choreographed encounter that was a sufficient opener to One Night Stand. Despite being pre-taped the fans were overjoyed to see Hardy leaping off a WWE truck on to the Samoan Bulldozer out in the parking lot. The pair set the standard for the rest of the night, and thankfully not one superstar or diva was ready to go any lower.
Beth Phoenix and Melina impressed greatly with their first ever WWE Ladies I Quit match. The two wrestle a submission styled match saw Melina crudely contorted so much so that she had no option but to quit. Coming off an impressive triple threat at Judgment Day (involving Women's Champion Mickie James) it was a superb development in a feud that I hope has not finished.
Shawn Michaels and Batista were a big surprise. At Cyber Sunday last year Finlay and Mysterio wrestled a great Stretcher match, and I feared HBK and Batista would not live up to that. Instead they battled in a fashion that was enjoyable and arguably memorable. Definately one of Batista's best matches to date.
The feud between Orton and HHH raged on, but it truly is a case of seeing one of their matches and seeing them all. The big highlight of One Night Stand was the TLC Match between Edge and Undertaker. The Phenom always looks like he is on the verge of calling it a day, and then from out of nowhere he pulls out an unbelievable match. Edge and Undertaker make One Night Stand a truly unforgettable event.

Extreme! Yes, very... :)
The first match is the worst. Falls count anywhere between Umaga and Jeff Hardy. They do an OK job. Jeff going down the banisters was new. But the ending was horrible. On the concrete? Yeah, right... not.
The singapore cane match was good. One of the best singapore cane matches I have seen (The most I have seen has been ECW-matches including The Sandman). Big Show is doing great in this one.
First blood between JBL and Cena is ok. They really tries to make their opponent bleed.
I quit: Melina vs Phoenix. It's a pity that the fans don't appreciate the women more. This is a great match and Melina is gorgeous as always.
Stretcher match between Michaels and Batista. It's ok, but I don't like the feud. Batista seems like a crybaby.
The last man standing match never peaks. Orton gets injured and the match gets shortened.
The final match is a TLC between Undertaker and Edge. They use lots of chairs, tables and ladders. It's a great match. But haven't we seen Edges helpers a thousand times too many now? The commentators spoils the match by talking too much about Undertakers last match in WWE.

This is so far my second favourite PPV of 2008. Its a shame that Randy Orton gets injured and has to cut the match short, but every other match is really good. The TLC is abit slow at times, but has a few terrific high risk spots. Definatly worth the money!
Extreme rulez baby! Actually one of the best PPV in the year, but some of the matches were quite boring. for undertaker fans a musthave.

-horrifiying end (Orton broke his collarbone)

A 4-star rating, I'm being nice, it could have easily been a 3.
Jeff Hardy Vs. Umaga was fantastically slow, painfully obvious what would happen and the ending... well... sack the camera man! He's terrible!
2/5, ending spoils it all.
The Singapore Cane match is a real highlight, Big Show is brilliant and he makes this match possibly match of the night, its way underrated!
4/5, really good.
The I Quit match is good, funny isn't it, all women's matches are terrible unless they have Melina's entrance and Beth Phoenix's wrestling. How Melina didn't break her back is... I don't know. Almost as much a mystery as how Mankind carried on against 'Taker at King of the Ring 1998.
4/5, for a women's match brilliant, and the ending adds on a star.
The First Blood match, I dont like Cena so much, nor JBL, but they've had much worst matches. Yes, they're both annoying, yes, the rivalry was terrrible, but it's not actually THAT BAD!
3/5.
I was looking forward to the stretcher match, but sadly this wasn't too great. I like both men but this just wasn't brilliant. If you want a drink or snack, go and get one during this match.
2/5
The Last Man Standing match was really good, and I was really getting into it, but Orton breaks his collarbone, so the match doesn't last for long, but there's still a few good spots.
3/5, could have had match of the night if it'd have gone on for longer, a fan is calling Orton on his way out, so Randy smacked him in his face, and I don't blame him, I would have too.
Now... the one we've all been waiting for the TLC match!!!
It was painfully obvious who'd win. Vickies little helper's came in to help Edge and we kind of knew what would happen in the end, Undertaker chucks edge of ladder and wins, then Vickie interferes.
No, the opposite happened. Good job 'Taker didn't leave WWE or else I'd have stopped watching.
The only way 'Take ris to be defeated at Wrestlemania and the match must be either: Inferno Match againts Kane, Buried Alive Match against Kane or A Special Referee Match against Kane with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin or Paul Bearer being Special Referee.
Anyways the DVD is worth a look.
Amazing ppv they really did as good as they could to make this a amazing ppv. All the matches were brilliant. The opening match was falls count anywhere adn for the first time in a while the two superstars fight out the arena and Jeff delivers a massive swanton bomb. All the very matches were great, the last man standing match was ok i think there could of been a better ending seeming the espectations of this match was very high, the final match was TLC match wich is just amazing, there were about 10 tables broke high flying stuff and chairs LOADS. Overall score 9.5/10 seeming how its just brilliant
One Night Stand 2008:
Well what can i say about this PPV. What once was a tribute to ECW ended up as another WWE PPV. Bearing that in mind it was a good PPV with matchs goingfrom OK to excellent. Match of the night hasto go to Edge VS The Undertaker. It showed that the Undertaker still has what it takes in the business. In Final words i would give this effort 10/10 but still not a patch on the original One Night Stand.
One Night Stand started off as an ECW event that WWE produced in 2005 which came back under the ECW banner in 2006 both were at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York. In 2007 WWE put all three brands together on the Pay Per Views so now it would be WWE One Night Stand and hosted every year but not at the Hammerstein Ballroom. 2007 of One Night Stand was a weak show it never did beat the first 2 events from 2005 and 2006 due to it having weak matches but 2008 of One Night Stand did improve on by a lot.
So let's now get into this review
Falls Count Anywhere Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga
The falls count anywhere match this was a great opener and what I did enjoy about this match is both Umaga and Jeff Hardy pull off some great moves. I haven't seen a match that has been outside of the arena in ages and this reminds me an Hardcore title match back in the old days. The highlight of this match for me was Jeff Hardy sliding down the banister on the stairs then doing a cross body on Umaga anything it was just fantastic Jeff Hardy making use of it and it was just exciting to watch. The swanton bomb from the top of the truck was quite awesome I just didn't think much of the camera angles.
Singapore Cane Match
Big Show vs. John Morrison vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk
I didn't think I would enjoy this match but I thought it was fantastic for some odd reason Big Show did make me laugh. This is also the match where Big Show's face above his eye is cut by John Morrison knocking him and hitting his face on the corner of the steel steps. The part that I did enjoy was Big Show getting mad and just getting the Singapore Cage and just hitting Miz and Morrison over and over. A great part of the match was Morrison trying to dive at Big Show from the ring to the out side where Big Show just hits him with the cane. Very entertaining match indeed.
"I Quit" Match
Melina vs. Beth Phoenix
All I can say about this match is it's just shocking the way Beth just bends Melina's body the thing is I never did hear her say she Quits though it would of been great for Melina to win.
Stretcher Match
Shawn Michaels vs. Batista
Not a match I really like I find the stretcher match very boring although both Batista and Shawn Michaels do make it a slightly good match/
First Blood Match
John Cena vs. JBL
The first blood match is the worst match on the event the Divas match is even better. This match is to slow which to be honest it is worth a skip it's quite a pathetic match when it comes to the end as it's the worst ending I have seen in a first blood match ever.
Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship
Triple H vs. Randy Orton
Another injury appears on the event Big Show gets hurt now Randy Orton does. This is the very match were Orton breaks his collarbone due to a bad fall. The match is not as long of course the thing that annoys me is although Randy gets injured these people at the event boo him and don't cheer him. One guy tries talking hard you see Orton say something back then the ref just shoving the guy back it's quite funny actually. Even though Orton breaks his collarbone Triple H still knocks him back down by the sledgehammer. The match is not bad but the people could of shown some support for Randy Orton. I noticed that WWE have edited out Orton swearing at the crowd which was shown on the live event..
TLC Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Edge vs Undertaker
This match was one of the main reason why I just had to add this DVD into my WWE DVD Collection. Edge and Undertaker without of a doubt is one of the best rivalry's of 2008 it will go in the history records for sure. This is Undertaker's first TLC match and he done pretty good but Edge brought out some of the best of the Undertaker. There is a lot of people going threw the tables Hawk and Ryder, Edge and Undertaker going threw 4 tables. This is also the match where if Undertaker loses he would leave WWE forever but we all knew he was just taking a break. This is a classic match and is the match of the night.
The DVD extras feature 4 highlights of Undertaker moments which are nothing interesting as I have seen these before and these last for about 1 minute or just under each. The DVD could of shown some footage of Big Show's eye, it should of shown Randy Orton getting attended to after breaking his collar bone. What about the great segments with Edge on SmackDown why won't WWE put some of them in or even interviews it's annoying a great event with bad DVD Extras. It always seems that WWE are lazy with the extras.
I highly recommend you to add this to your WWE DVD Collection.
This is 1 of the best One Night Stands u will ever c

the best matches are:

- undertaker bs edge 10/10 T.L.C good match
this is obviously a favourite to buy, it's not just a great ppv, its extreme. you get last man standing tlc, plus 4 great undertaker moments
One of the WWE'S best ppv's of the year. The Jeff Hardy - Umaga match is as innovative as your likely to see this side of the attitude era. Both guys w orked very well and was a very entertaining match. The HBK - Batista stretcher match was a hard hitting fight that showed just how amazing HBK is to get a good match out of the generally mediocre Batista, although to the Animals credit he did put in a good showing on this night. The WWE Championship match was cut short due to Ortons injury so didn't really realise it's full potential. Shame really. And the TLC show closer was a damn fine match. Featuring the usual table, ladder and chair stunts we've come to expect plus a few suprises, this was a great end to a fantastic ppv. Definitely recommended viewing.

This is a ok dvd but its main downfall is the rubbish extras it has literally nothing just 4 classic undertaker moments which are just 30 second rewinds of those moments.
some good matches at the ppv though.
Jeff Hardy Vs Umaga - 7/10
Melina Vs Beth Phoenix - 7/10 (Awesome for a divas match)
Singaore Cane Match - 8/10
HBK Vs Batista - 9/10 (Match Of The Year Candidate)
John Cena Vs JBL 4/10
Undertaker Vs Edge 10/10 (Match Of The Year Candidate)
Triple H Vs Randy Orton 6/10 (Would of been higher but match was cut short due to ortons injury)

First of all the fact that this pay per view had two weeks to build up its storylines following Judgement day didn't help. But thankfully the bulk of the pay per view was pretty good.
Jeff Vs Umaga
This was a very entertaining opener for me, this match started off at 100 MPH and finished that way. The ending of the match got ruined for me when you see they moved the crashmat after Jeffs swanton. The use of environment in this match was really something refreshing to see. Overall I'd rate this match 3/5
Singapore Cane match
Nothing better describes this as a spotfest. 2/5
Melina vs Beth Pheonix
Now this is one of the most technically sound diva matches I have ever seen. The use of submissions was a strong factor in this match, although it would have been nice to see them use some weapons. But I didn't buy the PPV for this match. 3/5
JBL vs John Cena
This was the worst match of the night for me by a long shot. the match was slow throughout and it wasn't as well conducted as their Judgement day encounter. If you get the DVD you'll skip this one...1/5
Orton Vs HHH
The result of this match would always be the most predictable of the night. This match by all means was not a bad match it just didn't live up to the last last man standing. And what this match is going to be remembered for ultimately is Orton breaking his collerbone. There is a really good spot with Ortons DDT of the announce table. Anyway this match was cut short and would have been better...3/5
Shawn Micheals vs Batista
Really what did Shawn Micheas do to deserve getting beat off Batista for 20 minutes. Well if Shawn Micheals couldn't sell moves well this would have been a boring match for me but thankfully Shawn Micheals is great at selling and made the match fun to watch. As for the storyline behind this match I can't say I'd been into it...4/5
Edge vs Undertaker
The best match of the night without a doubt. Undertakers first dance at a TLC was a great memorable one full of quality spots. And I would say La Familia ruined this match but the fact that Undertaker sent Hawkins and Ryder through tables made it alright. Anyway I would buy the DVD just for this match...5/5
Overall PPV score 4/5
Originally used as a ECW re-union pay-per-view, WWE now uses the "One Night Stand" name for its Raw, Smackdown and own version of ECW rosters. All the matches are conducted under some kind of gimmick, usually involving weapons to keep in line with the ECW theme, so it's a pretty entertaining event if you like hardcore action, but if you like straight-up wrestling then maybe it may not be for you.
Two of the matches were cut short due to serious injuries. The first casualty was Melina in the "I Quit" match against Beth Phoenix and the second was Randy Orton in the Last Man Standing match with HHH. So those matches obviously weren't as good as they could have been.
The Falls Count Anywhere match between Jeff Hardy and Umaga is quite fun, as they go old school Attitude era and fight backstage and to the outside.. we haven't seen stuff like that since the days of the Hardcore title and its a shame cause they were always fun matches. I felt the finish to this match spoilt it though, it was a bit silly and kind of an insult to our intelligence.
Cena and JBL have rubbish chemistry together and this match is no exception. Shawn Michaels and Batista on the other hand is a great match, very heated and continues the HBK-Y2J saga.
The main event is really good, much better than expected. I thought that because Undertaker is quite old now, he wouldn't take many falls or bumps through Tables but he definately put it on the line in this match, so props to him and Edge is awesome as always.
Overall, it's a hit and miss event but worth checking out nonetheless.
