The Royal Rumble is one of my favorite ppv's of the year!! The Rumble match is always exciting!!

My favorite moments are;

- 1998; Austin had a big bullseye on him but he overcame and won!!
- 2002; HHH coming back and when he entered who stood there; Austin! Awesome!!
- 1999; I loved the I quit match between The Rock and Mankind.
- 2007; Taker and HBK; the golden oldies!! Absolutely the best in the business!
- 2001; When the rumble became Hardcore with, Raven and Kane etc...Remember the bowlingball??
- 1990; Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior....I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that!
- 1997; Austin throwing one after the other out....only to check his 'taped watch' and steal the rumble win from Bret Hart!

I'll start from the first Royal Rumble I ever watched live.

Royal Rumble 2000 - Great Rumble match in my opinion, random entrant of Bob Backlund, not to mention the constant interference of Kai-En-Tai as well, until Taka smacked his face on the mat on the outside.

Royal Rumble 2001 - Wow, you have no idea how much I wanted Kane to win this one, he eliminated 11 guys, he really deserved to win, but Austin was the one to throw him out. Drew Carey coming into the Rumble was odd but funny as well.

Royal Rumble 2002 - Triple H's return to the WWE had the fans buzzing, everyone really wanted him to win this. The shocker of the night was definitely the rookie Maven eliminating The Undertaker, nobody including myself did not see that coming. Seeing Goldust, Mr Perfect, Godfather & Val Venis return to the WWE was awesome as well.

Royal Rumble 2003 - I believe this was the year Brock Lesnar walked away with his head in the air, earning a match at Wrestlemania. Shawn Michaels wanted the prove that he could go from Number 1 to winner again, but Chris Jericho did not want that at all, he made sure HBK was bruised and bloody before throwing him over the top rope. We also saw the return of The Undertaker, which is ALWAYS a good thing in my opinion.

Royal Rumble 2004 - Ahh the forgotten Royal Rumble (Due to the Chris Benoit incident), he pulled a Shawn Michaels and went from the unlucky number 1 to win the whole match. I remember Mick Foley coming back to get Randy Orton, to set up thier 3 on 2 handicap match at Wrestlemania XX. This rumble also saw Brock Lesnar screw Goldberg out of the Rumble match, which again led to thier match at Wrestlemania.

Royal Rumble 2005 - Both John Cena and Batista landing on the floor at the same time made this Rumble match quite controversial. Mr. McMahon wanted the match to restart with just Cena and Batista so we could have a clear winner. Of course, Batista was the one that had that golden ticket to Wrestlemania in the end.

Royal Rumble 2006 - The passing of Eddie Guerrero was still morned by WWE superstars, but mostly Rey Mysterio. He made a promise to the fans by winning the Royal Rumble, sadly he had to start at entrant number 2. Not only did Rey win this match, but he holds the record for the longest anyone has gone in a single Rumble match. He did this for us, and for Eddie.

Royal Rumble 2007 - After years of the Royal Rumble match, nobody has ever won the Rumble match entering at number 30, but that all changed when The Undertaker walked into the ring and cleaned house. It was down to two future Hall of Famers, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. A bloody HBK pulled everything out of the bag to get Undertaker over the top rope, but a Sweet Chin Music costed Shawn Michaels the win and a Title match, at Wrestlemania 23. But don't worry, HBK still made it to the grand daddy of them all.

Royal Rumble 2008 - John Cena was the name everyone was saying after this match, his shocking return to the WWE will go down in history as being one amazing returns in WWE history. But unlike others that have won the Rumble, Cena wanted his title match at No Way Out, not Wrestlemania.

Royal Rumble 2009 - To me, this Rumble match was too predicable, Orton had kicked Mr.McMahon in the skull a week before this event, and that already confirmed Orton's push into Wrestlemania. But this match saw the one night return of "Mr. Monday Night" Rob....Van.....Dam!.

My greatest moments:

10th: 2003 Chris Jericho entering number 2 only to take out HBK within minutes
9th: 2008 John Cena entering number 30 returning from injury to win the Rumble
8th: 1996 Jerry Lawler hiding under the ring in the rumble
7th: 1992 Ric Flair lasting over an hour to win the Rumble
6th: 2000 Triple H winning a street fight with Cactus for the WWE Title
5th: 2002 Triple H winning the Rumble after 8 months out with a torn quad
4th: HBK winning the 1995 Rumble he drew number 1
3rd: The Rock beating Mankind in a "I Quit match in 1999
2nd: 2007 HBK and Undertaker fighting it out to win the Rumble

I remember when Sid Justice eliminated Hulk Hogan at Royal Rumble 1992. And then the Hogan's reaction which allowed Ric Flair to win the Rumble. An important moment was also when Hbk and Undertaker were the last two men on the canvas in 2007: the crowd went nuts!

My Faveorite Royal Rumble moment ever has to be when The British Bulldog thought he'd eliminated Shawn Michaels but only 1 of HBK's feet hit floor and the he eliminated the bulldog as he celebrated. What a truly historic moment that was. There have been many Rumble memories over the years and im sure there's plenty to come too. Its one of the most unpredictable events in WWE, and the most entertaining!

I agree with you on Shawn Michaels and Undertaker in 2007, brilliant action with a great finish, and then to be the first 2 entrants a year later was pure briliance!

Not a favourite moment, but historic none-the-less was the absolutely shocking return of John Cena at RR2008. After being put on the injured list, no-one expected him to return for months.

And then last year, at Royal Rumble 2009, Mr Pay-Per-View, Rob Van Dam, returned for a 'one-shot' deal as the Rumble took place in his home-state of Michigan.
